Gurgaon’s Gen Z is working, not just studying
Gurgaon has fewer colleges than Delhi or Noida, perhaps 60 to 80 across the district including the private universities on the Manesar and Sohna roads, with a student population in the low lakhs. What it has instead is India’s densest concentration of 22 to 26 year olds with a salary: the consulting, startup, fintech and corporate offices of Cyber City, Golf Course Road, Udyog Vihar and Sohna Road employ hundreds of thousands, and a large share are Gen Z in their first or second job.
That makes Gurgaon the launch market for anything premium. New D2C, new fintech, new food and beverage, new mobility: if it needs an 18 to 26 year old with money and no mortgage, the test runs here.
Where Gurgaon’s 18 to 26 year olds are
Campuses are spread out. MDI sits at Sukhrali, BML Munjal and SGT are out along the Delhi–Jaipur highway, GD Goenka and KR Mangalam are on Sohna Road, Amity is at Manesar, NorthCap is in Sector 23A. Students from these colleges, plus the thousands of Gurgaon residents enrolled at DU, converge on Cyber Hub, Sector 29, Galleria and the MG Road malls. The first-jobbers are the easier crowd to find: Cyber Hub at lunch, Golf Course Road and Sector 29 after work, Sohna Road and Udyog Vihar on the commute.
Gurgaon is also the most car-and-cab city in India, so sampling and activations here happen at office food courts, co-living buildings, gyms and brunch spots rather than on a walkable campus strip. We plan accordingly.
What we run in Gurgaon
- First-jobber communities: WhatsApp and Discord groups around offices, co-living operators and run clubs, used for app launches, referrals and product sampling. See community marketing and app user acquisition.
- Campus programmes at MDI, BML Munjal, GD Goenka, Amity Gurgaon and NorthCap, with Imperium, Delphique and Amity Youth Fest as the anchor events. See campus marketing.
- Gurgaon creators: lifestyle, fitness, food and finance creators who actually live in the city, shooting at Cyber Hub, Sector 29 and Golf Course Road. See influencer marketing.
- Office and co-living sampling across Cyber City, Udyog Vihar and Sohna Road. See sampling and activations.
- Brand strategy for the many Gen Z-facing brands headquartered here. See brand strategy.
Gurgaon has no off-season. Offices run all year, so first-jobber programmes can start in any month, while the campus side follows the usual August intake and the February to March fest window.
Why Gurgaon brands pick us
Gurgaon is where many of our clients sit. The team behind GenZ Marketing has worked with Pee Safe, Bombay Shaving Company, Lenskart and Hive Hostels, all Delhi NCR brands, and our office is a short Yellow Line ride away, so a city lead can be in your Cyber City meeting room the same morning. Our 100K+ campus ambassador network means a Gurgaon brief can also be executed across DU and the Noida universities without a second agency.
Gurgaon almost never runs alone. It pairs with Delhi for campus scale and Noida for the other half of NCR’s private universities, with Jaipur the next stop down the highway. If you are choosing a Gen Z marketing agency for an NCR launch, our Gen Z marketing guide explains how we join campus, creators and community.
